Hedetangen – Unlock Your Senses
Imagine waking up surrounded by water, stepping outside into the quiet of your own island and realising that there is nowhere else you need to be.
This is Hedetangen.
The experience begins the moment you leave the mainland behind and cross the water to our small private island in Lungsund, Värmland, Sweden, home to our AuroraHut. Just 350 metres from the mainland, a short journey by electric boat takes you into a world where nature, comfort and tranquillity come together.
The island itself is the heart of the experience. We have created an outdoor living room where guests can spend an entire day without feeling the need to go anywhere. Enjoy a slow breakfast, pick fresh herbs from our garden, relax in the lounge area, prepare a meal in the outdoor kitchen or gather around the Vesani open grill and Kamado grill as the evening unfolds.
There is something special about having an island almost entirely to yourself – surrounded by water, nature, beautiful sunsets and the feeling of being away from everyday life.
We also invite our guests to explore and experience the island in their own way. Discover the night sky through our two telescopes, explore the darkness with night-vision equipment, or enjoy a film beneath the stars with our mini projector and screen. Food packages can also be arranged to make your stay even more memorable.
Late in autumn, the AuroraHut moves to the mainland, where it is anchored beside our wood-fired sauna at the water’s edge. In winter, guests can combine their stay with a traditional sauna and invigorating ice bath, while enjoying the stars and, on clear nights, the northern lights.
